I have worked over 30 years in IT, software and networking industries both in large corporations and in start-ups in various roles, mainly as CEO, GM, EVP and Director. Recent years have focused in growth projects as management consultant starting up new business areas and acquisitions mainly in information technology industry. These projects include strategy creation and update processes, implementation plans, acquisitions (from search, DD to closing), new service business management, branding and marketing plans and execution, sponsoring, communications, recruiting and other general management functions (but not other support functions like finance and legal).
My M&A experience started at Cisco in late 1990s where we focused mainly on technology and software companies and later I worked in first wave of IT venture capital industry as advisor, co-investor and board member with prominent VC investors in Finland. The start-up industry and it’s challenges became very familiar both from investor and entrepreneur perspective. Focus on recent years has been on IT service and software companies and have closed 1-2 deals per year.
